Stolen 10 Million Taka Recovered and Three Arrested in Jhenaidah
Police have arrested three suspects including a driver and recovered Tk 97.03 million following the theft of Tk 10 million belonging to a Chinese garment businessman. The funds, meant for factory wages and expenses, were stolen from a vehicle in an incident reported to law enforcement.
In a major development involving financial theft from a garment enterprise, law enforcement agencies have successfully arrested three suspects and recovered a significant portion of the stolen money. The operation, which spanned across different regions, led authorities to Jhenaidah where the suspects were apprehended in connection with the missing funds. The case centers around a Chinese garment businessman whose large cash sum was illegally taken from a vehicle.
According to the verified details of the case, the money was originally designated for the workers and operational expenses of Lavender Fashion Limited. A total of one crore Taka had been placed inside a vehicle belonging to the enterprise to cover these essential salary disbursements and other related factory costs before the theft occurred.
Following the disappearance of the substantial amount, formal legal action was initiated on September 2, 2024. Akramul Islam, the General Manager of the administration department at Lavender Fashion Limited, formally lodged a case at Rupganj Police Station to report the incident and trigger an official investigation into the missing money.
Through subsequent investigative efforts and coordinated actions, police successfully tracked down and arrested three individuals connected to the crime. The suspects taken into custody by law enforcement in Jhenaidah are identified as the driver Jahid Hasan, his wife Nasima Akhtar, and his maternal uncle Md. Akhtaruzzaman.
Alongside the arrests, law enforcement authorities managed to recover a total of Tk 97,030,000 out of the originally stolen sum. The operation involved multiple entities, including the Rupganj Police Station and Industrial Police-2, working to address the crime and secure the recovery of the factory funds.
