Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Bids Farewell to SAARC Secretary-General

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a farewell meeting with the Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Ambassador Golam Sarwar. The high-level diplomatic interaction marked the conclusion of the Secretary-General's tenure and brought to the forefront discussions concerning regional cooperation and multilateral diplomacy within South Asia.

During the deliberations, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman articulated a strong stance on multilateral engagement. He stated that regional cooperation is indispensable for confronting the shared obstacles faced by South Asia and for fulfilling the collective interests and aspirations of its diverse populations.

Ambassador Golam Sarwar took the opportunity to officially recall and pay tribute to the visionary initiative of Bangladesh's martyred President Ziaur Rahman, acknowledging his pivotal role as a principal founder of the SAARC organization.
