NCP holds coordination meeting in Bandarban, calls for honest officials

On August 23, 2026, the National Citizen Party, also known as NCP, organized an important coordination meeting at the K S I Auditorium located in Bandarban. The gathering brought together various leaders and members of the organization to discuss critical regional issues and administrative matters concerning the hill tracts of the country.

Sarjis Alam, who serves as the Northern Regional Chief Organizer of the National Citizen Party, attended the event as the chief guest and delivered a significant speech addressing the governance and administrative challenges faced by the residents of the region. The meeting was presided over by Mongsapru Chowdhury, who holds the position of Convener of the Bandarban District branch of the National Citizen Party.

During his address, Sarjis Alam emphasized the unique economic hardships faced by the local population. He stated that compared to the plains, earning a livelihood in the hilly region of Bandarban is considerably more difficult for the ordinary inhabitants who already struggle against numerous environmental and socio-economic adversities.

Addressing the administrative issues directly, the chief guest remarked that when corrupt officials are posted to these remote and challenging areas, their involvement in irregularities and corruption makes the daily lives of the local people even more unbearable and miserable.

To combat these persistent administrative failures, Sarjis Alam strongly urged the government to move away from the traditional policy of merely transferring corrupt officials out of the area. Instead, he called for the strategic placement of honest and dedicated officials to ensure genuine public service delivery.

The coordination meeting concluded with local and regional leaders echoing these sentiments, reinforcing the party's ongoing organizational efforts and commitment to improving governance standards for the vulnerable populations residing in the country's hill tracts.
