NCP accuses government of 180-day failure and authoritarianism in Dhaka
The National Citizen Party held an emergency press conference in Dhaka to highlight what it described as a 180-day failure by the administration. Party leaders criticized the government's management and announced plans for upcoming divisional long marches.
The National Citizen Party, known as NCP, convened an emergency press conference on Monday, August 24, at its temporary central office located in the Banglamotor area of the capital city of Dhaka.
During the briefing, the political organization formally presented a detailed assessment highlighting the administration's alleged failures and widespread mismanagement over its initial period in office, spanning exactly 180 days.
Addressing reporters at the event, NCP leader Nahid Islam delivered sharp criticisms regarding the current state of governance, accusing the authorities of sliding back into authoritarian practices. According to his remarks, the administration is exhibiting signs of returning to old autocratic methods, asserting that Tariq Rahman seemingly possesses no concrete plan for the country.
Islam further claimed that the government's first 180 days in power have clearly exposed severe administrative mismanagement and a troubling trend toward fascism that is actively driving the nation toward destruction. He alleged that systemic looting and partisan politicization are currently taking place across all sectors of society under the present leadership.
Looking ahead to future political actions, the NCP leader also announced that a strong and uncompromising message will be delivered to the government through upcoming divisional long marches organized in collaboration with the 11-party alliance.
