Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal observed its 46th founding anniversary on Wednesday with various commemorative programs in Dhaka. As part of the milestone celebrations, leaders and members gathered at Zia Udyan to honor the legacy of the organization and the broader nationalist movement.

During the observance at Zia Udyan in Dhaka, participants paid formal respects by placing floral wreaths at the grave of BNP founder and martyred president Ziaur Rahman. Wreaths were also placed to honor former prime minister Khaleda Zia, marking the significance of the 46th anniversary for the party's affiliated wing.

Senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi spoke to journalists on Wednesday at the venue. Addressing the media gathering, Rizvi launched a sharp critique of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, stating that she had previously promised employment in every household. Instead, he asserted, Hasina left Bangladesh with the highest unemployment rate in South Asia, while questioning the delivery of jobs and free fertilizer promised during her tenure.

Continuing his remarks, Rizvi emphasized the core principles of his party regarding governance and accountability. He stated that the political culture of the BNP is rooted in honoring commitments and keeping promises, adding that such work is currently underway. Furthermore, touching upon foreign policy, he stated that Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign country that wishes to maintain friendly relations with all nations on the basis of equality, while firmly declaring that friendship cannot be subjected to any conditions.

The commemorative events at Zia Udyan saw the presence of numerous prominent figures from the BNP and its affiliated organizations. Among the attendees joining Ruhul Kabir Rizvi were Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel, Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel, SM Jilani, Rajib Ahsan, Yasin Ali, Nazmul Hasan, Sheikh Farid, and Zahir Uddin Tuhin, alongside members and leaders from both the Dhaka North and Dhaka South units of Swechchhasebak Dal.
