BPJA Rallies in Dhaka for World Photography Day
The Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association marked World Photography Day with a rally in Dhaka on August 19, 2026. Members gathered to demand enhanced professional status, security, and rights for photojournalists.

On August 19, 2026, the Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association (BPJA) organized a prominent rally in the capital city of Dhaka to observe World Photography Day. The event brought together numerous professionals and association members to mark the international occasion.
The procession commenced directly in front of the official BPJA office located in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. Participants gathered at the starting point before moving forward to carry out the scheduled demonstration.
From Purana Paltan, the rally route proceeded toward the Dainik Bangla intersection. The participants marched through the busy thoroughfare, displaying solidarity and drawing public attention to their professional observance.
After completing the circuit around the Dainik Bangla intersection, the procession returned to its original starting point. The march successfully concluded right back in front of the BPJA office in Purana Paltan.
Throughout the course of the rally, members articulated several key demands concerning their working environment. Specifically, the participants called for the guaranteed professional status, security, and fundamental rights of all working photojournalists.
