On August 16, the Administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Md Abdus Salam, carried out a sudden and unannounced inspection of various departments and branches located within the Nagar Bhaban in Dhaka. This surprise visit was primarily aimed at monitoring the daily attendance of officials and staff members, ensuring that the workforce adheres strictly to established protocols and official working hours within the municipal headquarters.
During the course of the inspection, the DSCC administrator personally checked the presence of personnel across multiple administrative sections of the Nagar Bhaban. By conducting this thorough review, he sought to reinforce the importance of punctuality and accountability among all municipal workers who are tasked with running the daily operations of the city corporation.
Addressing the workforce and management during the visit, Administrator Md Abdus Salam underscored the fundamental nature of the organization. He stated, “Dhaka South City Corporation is a service-oriented institution. To provide the desired services to city residents, there is no alternative to responsibility, punctuality, and dedication among officials and employees. It is necessary to be present in the office at the stipulated time and perform respective duties with sincerity.”
Furthermore, the administrator issued a firm warning regarding performance standards and operational discipline within the municipal authority. He remarked, “Regular attendance and effectiveness of officials and employees will be strictly monitored. No kind of laxity, delay, or negligence in providing citizen services will be tolerated.”
