Dhaka South City Corporation Announces 'Hridaye Dhaka-416' Film Festival

A week-long cultural and cinematic event titled 'Hridaye Dhaka-416' film festival is scheduled to officially open on August 22 at 4:00 PM. The grand inauguration of this significant cultural programme will take place at the well-known Madhumita cinema hall located in the Motijheel area of the capital.

Details regarding the upcoming festival were officially announced during a press conference held on August 19. The press briefing took place at the Madhumita hall in Motijheel, where the administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), freedom fighter Md. Abdus Salam, briefed media representatives about the various aspects of the programme.

Elaborating on the core objectives of the event, Md. Abdus Salam stated during the press conference that the festival aims to preserve the history and heritage of the city. He further explained that the initiative will highlight Dhaka's distinct cultural identity through the medium of film, while also working to actively engage the younger generation with urban culture.

As part of the week-long celebrations, the festival organizers have scheduled the screening of 13 traditional and historically important films. These cinematic works are expected to reflect the rich cultural and historical tapestry associated with the capital city and its long-standing cinematic tradition.

In addition to the film screenings, the programme will feature a special recognition ceremony. Organizers have confirmed that a total of 58 distinguished artists, technicians, and film professionals will be honored during the event for their notable contributions to the industry.
