This major administrative decision was officially confirmed on September 19, following a formal office order that was signed and issued earlier on Thursday, September 17.
According to the official directive issued by the hospital authorities, a clear disciplinary framework has been established to address chronic tardiness and unauthorized absences among the medical staff. Specifically, the regulation dictates that if any doctor fails to arrive and depart from their workplace on time for three consecutive days, administrative action will be initiated against them in the form of a formal show-cause notice.
The newly enforced regulations apply broadly across various medical cadres within the healthcare facility. All consultants, medical officers, assistant surgeons, and emergency medical officers serving at the 250-Bed District Sadar Hospital have been explicitly instructed to maintain a mandatory presence at their workstations every single day starting from 8:00 AM in the morning until 2:30 PM in the afternoon.
Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Hannan, the supervisor of the 250-Bed District Sadar Hospital who signed the office order, provided important context regarding the background of this disciplinary enforcement. He noted that due to doctors previously failing to show up at the hospital on time, he had submitted a formal notice several months ago to the Director General of the Health Department as well as other relevant offices.
Elaborating on the positive impact of those earlier administrative steps, Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Hannan confirmed that following his initial communications with the higher authorities, the doctors stationed at his hospital have successfully maintained the practice of arriving at the facility strictly on time and are continuing these punctual operations.
