BRTA Mobile Court Sentences Two Middlemen to Prison in Uttara
A mobile court operated by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority has sentenced two middlemen to two months of simple imprisonment each. The operation took place at the Uttara Dhaka Metro Circle-3 office to curb fraud and harassment.
A mobile court has been successfully conducted at the Uttara Dhaka Metro Circle-3 office of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). The operation aimed to address ongoing issues concerning unauthorized intermediaries operating within the official premises.
The mobile court operation was personally led by BRTA Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman. During the course of the official drive at the Uttara Dhaka Metro Circle-3 office, authorities successfully detained two individuals operating as middlemen.
Following their apprehension, the mobile court sentenced both detained individuals to two (02) months of simple imprisonment each. The confirmed individuals who received these prison sentences are Md. Suman and Md. Palash.
Addressing the context behind the crackdown, Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman provided a detailed statement regarding the activities of the fraudulent group. He stated that this fraudulent syndicate used to lure clients coming to the BRTA by promising them expedited services, only to escape with their documents and money—noting that numerous such complaints had reached the authorities.
Furthermore, Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman emphasized the ongoing commitment of the administration to clean up the sector. He added that in order to eliminate the suffering of service recipients and keep the BRTA completely free of middlemen, this drive is regularly ongoing and will continue in the future as well.
