Bangladesh State Minister Meets Saudi FM on OIC Sidelines in Jeddah

On Thursday, a significant diplomatic engagement took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the 23rd meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers. Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Humayun Kabir, held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Faisal Al Saud.

During this high-level diplomatic encounter in Jeddah, State Minister Humayun Kabir officially handed over a letter written by Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tareque Rahman. The correspondence was specifically addressed to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman, further strengthening bilateral communications between the two nations.

The meeting between the Bangladeshi State Minister and the Saudi Foreign Minister underscored the ongoing diplomatic ties and cooperation framed within the institutional context of the OIC. Both officials discussed matters of mutual interest during their interaction on the sidelines of the multinational gathering in the Saudi city.

During the discussions in Jeddah, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Faisal Al Saud made a notable remark regarding bilateral relations. He explicitly stated to the Bangladeshi delegation that Bangladesh is considered one of the priority countries for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This diplomatic exchange, facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlights the active participation of Bangladesh in OIC events and its continuous efforts to enhance diplomatic engagement with key regional partners in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia.
