On Tuesday, in the capital city of Paris, France, a formal defense partnership agreement was officially signed between the governments of Saudi Arabia and France. The high-profile diplomatic and military event took place at the renowned Élysée Palace, which serves as the official residence and seat of the presidency of the French Republic.
Representing their respective nations during the formal signing ceremony were the defense ministers of both countries. The agreement was signed by Prince Khalid bin Salman on behalf of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense, while Catherine Vautrin signed the official document representing the French side.
The momentous occasion was further elevated by the presence of key heads of state and government leaders. French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman were both in attendance at the Élysée Palace to witness the finalization of this bilateral defense pact.
