Specifically, tensions flared when Bilkis Islam, a member of parliament from the reserved seats for women, expressed visible anger upon discovering that the opening name plaque featured only the name of Hafez Maulana Abdul Muntakim, the Member of Parliament for the Nilphamari-4 constituency.
Defending the placement of his name on the plaque, MP Hafez Abdul Muntakim addressed the ownership and jurisdiction surrounding the facility. He stated, "This inspection room belongs to all 350 members of the Jatiya Sangsad. Everyone will come here and work. But since this area is mine, my name will naturally remain on the plaque."
The confrontation highlighted a growing friction between the local representatives present at the scene.
