Nepal PM Balen Allowed to Wear Dark Sunglasses in Parliament

Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah, who is 36 years old and widely known by the name Balen, has been officially granted permission to continue wearing dark sunglasses inside the nation's parliament building due to specific medical requirements.

The administrative decision was formally announced by the Nepal Parliament Secretariat. According to officials within the parliamentary body, the secretariat received an official medical report detailing that the Prime Minister requires the protective eyewear when exposed to bright lights.

This new development follows a previous administrative directive issued earlier this month. At that time, Nepal Parliament Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal had explicitly recommended that the Prime Minister refrain from wearing dark sunglasses while attending proceedings inside the parliament chamber.

Despite the earlier recommendation given by Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal earlier this month, the submission of the updated medical report has officially changed the situation, allowing the 36-year-old leader to maintain the medical accommodation during parliamentary sessions.

The procedural details and the handling of the medical documentation were overseen by relevant parliamentary authorities, including references noted in connection with Ananta Prasad Koirala, ensuring the Prime Minister's health needs are accommodated in the legislative setting.
