Authorities conducted a mobile court operation at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Dhaka Metro Circle-1 office located in Mirpur, Dhaka. The enforcement action targeted intermediary brokers operating illegally within the official premises. BRTA's Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman spearheaded the intervention, which aimed to restore order and legal compliance at the vital transport service hub.

During the targeted sweep, law enforcement personnel successfully detained four individuals implicated in brokerage activities. These suspects were subsequently tried on the spot by the mobile court. The swift legal proceedings underscored the administration's zero-tolerance policy toward unauthorized middlemen operating around official government service delivery points.

The judiciary outcomes varied among the detained culprits based on their specific involvement. One of the four detained brokers was handed a financial penalty of 10,000 taka. Meanwhile, the remaining three individuals received harsher custodial sentences, each being condemned to 30 days of imprisonment behind bars.

Addressing the context behind the crackdown, Executive Magistrate Md. Anisuzzaman elaborated on the persistent malpractice plaguing the office. He stated that this fraudulent syndicate had numerous complaints filed against them for luring customers who came to the BRTA for services with promises of fast-tracking their work, only to abscond with their crucial documents and money.

Highlighting the broader objectives of the administrative action, Magistrate Anisuzzaman emphasized the necessity of safeguarding ordinary citizens from exploitation. He explained that to alleviate the suffering of service seekers and to keep the BRTA completely free of brokers, such operations are being conducted on a regular basis.

Concluding official remarks on the crackdown, the executive magistrate affirmed the administration's long-term strategy for administrative transparency. He confirmed that this robust anti-brokerage campaign will continue into the future to ensure sustained order and accountability at the BRTA regional office.
