BSTI mobile court fines Future Mineral Water 10,000 BDT in Rajshahi

The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) recently conducted a mobile court operation in the Baliapukur area of Rajshahi metropolitan city. This enforcement action targeted local enterprises operating outside established regulatory frameworks to ensure consumer safety and product standards within the region.

During the operation, authorities inspected Future Mineral Water, a local establishment engaged in the production and commercial distribution of packaged drinking water. The inspection revealed that the enterprise was actively producing, selling, and distributing 19-liter jar water without possessing the mandatory quality certificate issued by the BSTI.

Furthermore, investigators found that the establishment was conducting its manufacturing and distribution activities in an unhygienic environment. Operating without the required certification and under substandard sanitary conditions posed direct risks to public health, prompting immediate legal intervention by the visiting officials.

To address these regulatory violations, the mobile court imposed a financial penalty on the enterprise. Future Mineral Water was ordered to pay a fine totaling 10,000 BDT for failing to comply with standard production protocols and legal requirements governing packaged drinking water.

The administrative drive was successfully executed under the authority of the Rajshahi district administration. The proceedings of the mobile court were led by Md. Shahriyar Islam Nasif, who serves as the assistant commissioner and executive magistrate for the district administration.

The operation received coordinated support from local law enforcement personnel. Members of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were deployed to the Baliapukur area to maintain public order and assist the executive magistrate throughout the course of the administrative inspection and penalty issuance.
