Kamrangirchar Iron Bridge Reopened After Renovation by DSCC

The iron bridge located in the Kamrangirchar area of Dhaka has officially been reopened for public movement following the completion of its much-needed renovation work. The opening ceremony took place on the morning of Friday, August 28, marking a significant infrastructural development for the local population who rely on this vital crossing for their daily commuting and economic activities.
According to official details released regarding the project, the crucial renovation work was carried out under the direct initiative of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The municipal authority prioritized the repair of the bridge to ensure safe and unhindered movement for the inhabitants of the densely populated locality, addressing long-standing structural concerns associated with the crossing.
Authorities from the Dhaka South City Corporation have highlighted the extensive positive impact of the completed project. Specifically, the DSCC has officially stated that the successful repair and reopening of the Kamrangirchar iron bridge will directly benefit approximately fifty lakh people, providing them with vastly improved connectivity and easing transportation challenges in the area.
During the related events, the DSCC administrator addressed broader political and infrastructural contexts, noting that the current government has been in power for only six months. The administrator emphasized that it is not possible to solve power and gas crises overnight, adding that the administration requires some time to effectively resolve these persistent difficulties.
The DSCC administrator further criticized political opponents during the discussions, pointing out that the opposition party has taken a stance against the administration before even six months have elapsed, attempting to prevent the government from working for the country.

Salam asserted that a change of government will occur exclusively through the medium of votes in the upcoming elections, while expressing confidence that the BNP will restore good governance, democracy, and the rights of the people in the country over the next five years.
