ICP-JRC Programming Contest 2026 Held at University of Asia Pacific
The University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka hosted the ICPC-JRC Inter-College and Inter-UAP Programming Competition 2026 on Saturday. Alongside the four-hour contest, scholarships were awarded to students from two semesters.
The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in Dhaka recently hosted the ICPC-JRC Inter-College and Inter-UAP Programming Competition 2026, drawing significant participation from student programmers. The event took place last Saturday, bringing together academic institutions and technology enthusiasts on the UAP campus.
The competition was jointly organized by the UAP Programming Contest Club (PCC) and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific. A total of 270 competitors took part in the event, which featured a rigorous four-hour programming contest designed to test the technical skills and problem-solving abilities of the participants.
In the inter-college division, the team named 'Desh' from Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College secured the championship title and was awarded 21,000 taka. The first runner-up team in the inter-college division received 18,000 taka, while the second runner-up team was awarded 15,000 taka. Meanwhile, in the senior division of the inter-UAP competition, the champion team received 12,000 taka.
The event also featured the awarding of the ICPC-JRC scholarships. A total of 20 students across two semesters—Fall 2024 and Spring 2025—received scholarships during the ceremony. Additionally, the ICPC Foundation has taken an initiative to provide a funding grant of 50,000 US dollars to the University of Asia Pacific.
The program was attended by numerous distinguished individuals, including K. M. Mujibul Hoque, Selina Nowroz Chowdhury, Dr. Mohammad Alauddin, Karishma Chowdhury, G. R. Ahmed Jamal, Abul Lais M. S. Hoque, Mohammad Kaykobad, Munir Hasan, Salma Begum, Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, and Nasima Begum. Representatives and participants from various institutions such as Southeast Bank PLC, Innovative Skills Limited, Cardiff International School Dhaka, CDA Public School and College, North South University, BRAC University, Bangladesh Open Source Network, Government Science College Dhaka, and the ICPC Foundation were associated with the broader scope of these academic and competitive initiatives.
