United International University's Aerial Robotics Team, known as UART, has achieved a historic milestone by securing fourth place at the Student Unmanned Aerial Systems 2026 competition. The prestigious international event took place in the United States, showcasing advanced autonomous systems developed by university students from around the globe.

The final round of the competition was held from September 14 to September 17 at the Skyway Range, located in Tulsa within the US state of Oklahoma. This year's rigorous contest featured an initial pool of 81 participating teams from various countries, competing to demonstrate their engineering prowess and unmanned aerial vehicle capabilities.

Following the preliminary stages, a total of 67 teams were successfully selected to advance to the final phase of the competition in Oklahoma. Among those contenders, 64 teams managed to receive official flight readiness approval, while 58 teams ultimately proceeded to conduct actual flight operations during the rigorous event.

The competition proved exceptionally challenging for many participants, with 21 teams experiencing crashes during their operational runs. Despite these obstacles, United International University's UART excelled across multiple technical evaluations, notably earning full marks in both the safety inspection and rapid response categories.

This landmark 4th-place finish represents a historic achievement for Bangladesh on the international stage. According to the event records, UART is officially the first-ever Bangladeshi team to secure a coveted podium position in the history of the Student Unmanned Aerial Systems competition.
