Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman has officially been appointed as the new Managing Director of Dhaka Wasa, according to recent official announcements. The appointment brings a new leadership figure to the organization, marking a significant transition in the management of the capital's water supply and sewerage authority.
Prior to this new role, Dr. Moniruzzaman served as an additional secretary attached to the Local Government Division. His extensive background in public administration has positioned him well for taking on the responsibilities associated with heading Dhaka Wasa.
The official appointment was finalized and announced through a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. The ministry released the directive on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, officially confirming his transition to the key leadership post in Dhaka.
With this newly issued directive, Dr. Moniruzzaman steps into the role to succeed the outgoing Managing Director, Md. Aminul Islam. The change in leadership at Dhaka Wasa was formally enacted following the completion of administrative procedures by the Ministry of Public Administration.
