DNCC Administrator Inaugurates Decorative Poles With Smart Lights

On August 31, 2026, the administrator of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan, officially inaugurated a new infrastructure project featuring decorative poles equipped with smart lights. The inauguration ceremony took place at noon in the Khamarbari roundabout area along Manik Miah Avenue in Dhaka, marking a significant step toward urban development in the capital.

This civic initiative falls directly under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka North City Corporation. The primary objectives of installing these decorative poles are to enhance the overall aesthetic beauty of major roads across the city and to ensure smoother, safer movement for citizens traversing these key thoroughfares during both day and night.

Addressing the gathering during the launch event, DNCC administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan emphasized the directives in place to illuminate and modernize the urban landscape of Dhaka. He explained that the city corporation undertook this specific project precisely to fulfill those broader developmental goals.
