Dhaka South Administrator Calls for Active Citizen Role in Cleaning City

The administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation, Freedom Fighter Md. Abdus Salam, has issued a direct and urgent call to the residents of Dhaka regarding the pressing need to build a genuinely clean and well-maintained urban environment. During discussions concerning civic responsibilities within the capital, the Dhaka South City Corporation official underscored that achieving a truly clean city relies fundamentally upon the conscious, active, and ongoing participation of all local citizens.
Highlighting the root causes of recurring urban problems, Administrator Md. Abdus Salam pointed out a major habit among city dwellers that severely harms local infrastructure. According to the Dhaka South City Corporation administrator, the practice of throwing various types of waste, particularly plastic materials, directly into city drains, canals, and stormwater channels causes severe blockages that disrupt the natural flow of water throughout the metropolitan area.
This persistent obstruction of the drainage network directly leads to widespread and problematic waterlogging during rains, disrupting daily life for residents across Dhaka. Because water cannot easily escape through the clogged systems, neighborhoods frequently experience severe water accumulation, creating significant commuting difficulties and public health concerns for the general population living within the jurisdiction of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
To permanently resolve these recurring environmental and infrastructural challenges, Md. Abdus Salam strongly advised citizens to alter their daily waste disposal routines. The administrator specifically recommended that residents collect and deposit their household and commercial refuse strictly in designated locations rather than casting debris haphazardly into the public drainage infrastructure of Dhaka.
Concluding his appeal to the public, the Dhaka South City Corporation administrator stressed the dual benefits that will naturally arise from such collective civic cooperation. Administrator Md.
