Chittagong Honors Over 400 Golden GPA-5 Achievers in Ceremony
Chittagong recently hosted a special reception honoring more than four hundred students who achieved golden GPA-5 in their SSC and HSC examinations. Prominent educationalist and social thinker Sayeed Al Noman addressed the gathering as the chief guest, emphasizing political accountability and youth engagement.
In the port city of Chittagong, a grand reception ceremony was organized on Wednesday night to honor more than four hundred students who attained golden GPA-5 results in their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. The event brought together educators, political figures, labor leaders, and high-achieving students to celebrate academic excellence.
Eminent educationalist and social thinker Sayeed Al Noman graced the occasion as the chief guest, delivering a significant address regarding the future of the nation and the responsibilities of the younger generation. He stressed that establishing a culture of complete accountability in politics is now an urgent demand of the time. Furthermore, he articulated that leadership should never be viewed as a royal title or a symbol of power, but rather as a genuine commitment to becoming a servant of the people.
Continuing his remarks at the Chittagong event, Sayeed Al Noman warned that if accountability is not ensured at every single tier of society, it will remain impossible to establish true equality, justice, and the overarching aspirations of the July Revolution. Addressing the assembled students and citizens directly, the chief guest remarked that he had never approached them to ask for prayers and votes, nor was he asking for votes on this particular night. However, he strongly urged everyone to become politically conscious, emphasizing that for the sake of the country and the state, the youth must fulfill their roles as aware and vigilant citizens.
The ceremony was presided over by A M Nazimuddin, who serves as the labor affairs secretary of the central committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) as well as the president of the Chittagong divisional labor party (Sramik Dal). In his presidential address, A M Nazimuddin reflected on the broader socio-political context of the nation, referencing a period he described as an eighteen-year dark rule.
A notable gathering of prominent figures attended the Chittagong reception alongside the main speakers. Among the distinguished individuals present at the event were S M Nasrul Kadir, Mohammad Nazim Uddin, Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, Siddik Ahmad Chowdhury, Kamrul Hasan, SK Khoda Totan, and Ahmadur Rahman. Their presence underscored the significance of the academic recognition event within the local community.
The event successfully highlighted the academic achievements of the region's top students while providing a platform for prominent leaders and educationalists to connect academic success with civic duty, political awareness, and the ongoing quest for democratic accountability and societal justice within Bangladesh.
