BUET sets stage for 2026-27 undergraduate admission date decision

The academic council of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) convened a meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on September 5, 2026, to address the scheduling of the upcoming undergraduate admission tests. During the deliberations, university authorities reviewed the current administrative timeline for the academic year 2026-27, which remains a matter of significant interest for prospective engineering students across the country.

Despite the recent convening of the academic council in Dhaka, the exact date for the 2026-27 undergraduate admission tests has not yet been officially determined. The delay has kept thousands of prospective applicants awaiting a definitive announcement from the institution regarding when the entrance examinations will officially take place for the new academic term.

Addressing the current status of the schedule, Professor Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan provided official clarification on the matter. According to Professor Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, the admission test dates for the 2026-27 academic year are still pending formal finalization, noting: '২০২৬-২৭ শিক্ষাবর্ষের ভর্তি পরীক্ষার তারিখ এখনো নির্ধারণ করা হয়নি। তবে আগামীকাল আমরা বসে এ বিষয়ে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নেব।'

To resolve the pending scheduling matters, university authorities have organized a follow-up session. Tomorrow, Sunday, September 6, the BUET academic council will hold a dedicated meeting specifically to decide and finalize the official date for the 2026-27 undergraduate admission examinations.

The current deliberative process at BUET unfolds alongside broader academic scheduling updates across the country's higher education sector. Other major institutions in Bangladesh, including Dhaka University, Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, and three additional engineering universities, have already announced their respective admission test timeframes for the 2026-27 academic year.
