BRTC to recruit female drivers temporarily for women's Pink Bus service

The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has announced plans to recruit female drivers on a temporary basis to operate its dedicated 'Pink Bus' service, which is specifically designed for female commuters. This initiative marks a notable step by the state-run transport organization toward incorporating more women into its operational workforce.

To facilitate the selection process, a walk-in interview for the initial screening of candidates will be conducted over a three-day period, running from August 30 to September 1. Interested applicants are required to attend the interview sessions between the hours of 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM at the BRTC Central Training Institute located in Gazipur, Bangladesh.

The transport corporation has established specific eligibility criteria for prospective applicants. Candidates must be permanent citizens of Bangladesh, fall within the age bracket of 21 to 35 years, and possess a minimum height of 5 feet. Additionally, all applicants are strictly required to hold a valid heavy driving license in order to be considered for the positions.

Following the initial screening process, candidates who are provisionally selected will undergo a comprehensive training program. This institutional preparation involves free training on driving heavy vehicles, which will span a duration ranging from 7 days up to two months depending on individual requirements.

Upon the successful completion of the specialized heavy vehicle driving training, the qualified candidates will be officially appointed to driver positions on a daily wage basis. This structured recruitment and training drive underscores ongoing efforts by the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation to create employment opportunities for women within the country's public transport sector.
