BGB Provides Free Medical Care to Underprivileged in Panchbibi Border
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has organized a free medical camp at the Panchbibi border area in Joypurhat. Over five hundred underprivileged individuals received medical treatment and free medicine during the day-long event.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has stepped forward to support vulnerable populations by organizing a comprehensive free medical camp and distributing essential medicines to underprivileged people living along the remote border area of Panchbibi in Joypurhat. The humanitarian initiative was designed to bring crucial healthcare services directly to marginalized residents who often struggle to access adequate medical attention due to their remote geographic location and financial constraints.
The day-long medical outreach program officially took place on 14 September 2026, transforming the grounds of the Koya Government Primary School field into a bustling hub of healthcare activity. Operating under the jurisdiction of the local Koya Border Outpost (BOP), the camp drew numerous local residents from the surrounding border villages who gathered to seek professional medical advice and treatment for various health ailments.
Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, the Sector Commander of the Dinajpur Sector, formally inaugurated the humanitarian initiative at 10:00 AM. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the senior BGB official emphasized the broader mission of the border security force, stating that alongside guarding the national frontier, the BGB consistently works for the welfare of the people residing in border regions and remains firmly committed to standing beside helpless individuals during any crisis or humanitarian disaster.
During the course of the day-long event, more than five hundred local women, men, and children received expert medical consultations from qualified physicians. In addition to professional diagnoses, the patients were provided with necessary pharmaceutical supplies and medicine completely free of charge to help manage their health conditions and improve overall community well-being.
Organized jointly through the efforts of the Dinajpur Sector and the Joypurhat Battalion, this medical camp highlights the ongoing commitment of security forces to foster positive civil-military relations. Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan further noted that these types of constructive community engagement activities will continue to strengthen the bonds of trust and cooperation between the BGB and the local civilian population.
