Bangladesh Plans to Distribute School Textbooks This December

The government of Bangladesh has taken a strategic initiative to ensure that students receive their upcoming academic year textbooks on time. According to the latest update, authorities have formulated a concrete plan to officially hand over the new textbooks to students by December of this current year.

To achieve this objective, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has established a specific operational target. The board aims to finish printing all required textbooks and successfully distribute them to field-level destinations across the country no later than November 30.

This decisive planning falls under the broader framework of the government's ongoing 180-day action program. Officials from relevant bodies, including Mohammad Abu Naser, the Ministry of Education, the Prime Minister's Office, and Motijheel Ideal School and College, remain connected to the broader educational administration landscape in the country.

Looking slightly ahead into future academic planning, authorities have already mapped out substantial curriculum expansions. Specifically, for the 2027 academic year, the education system plans to introduce a total of four brand new textbooks—featuring two new books each for the fourth and sixth grades respectively.

Furthermore, scaling operations for that same 2027 academic cycle will be massive. The overarching administrative framework currently includes plans to print a staggering total of approximately 31 crore textbooks covering everything from pre-primary education all the way up through the secondary school level.
