The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has officially announced special quota admission opportunities for higher secondary classes during the current 2026-2027 academic year. This crucial directive outlines how students across the country will secure admission into colleges and educational institutions under the updated national framework.

According to the official notification issued by the committee, a significant majority of all available educational institution seats will remain completely open for all applicants. Specifically, ninety-three percent of all available seats in every educational institution will be allocated strictly on the basis of merit, ensuring fair competition for the general student body.

Alongside the merit-based positions, the newly announced guidelines detail specific allocations for designated groups under the national education framework. Five percent of the total available seats are officially reserved for the sons and daughters of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters, honoring their families through structured educational provisions.

Furthermore, two percent of the total seats are designated specifically for the children of officials and employees working within the Ministry of Education as well as its subordinate offices and agencies, providing targeted administrative support for education sector personnel.

The current 2026-2027 academic year framework also explicitly ensures that four distinct categories of students will receive special quota benefits during the admission process. The official list of beneficiaries includes students with special needs, children of expatriates, graduates from the Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protishtan (BKSP), and students who have achieved recognition through awards in sports and cultural fields.

These comprehensive admission directives, coordinated by the relevant educational authorities in Bangladesh, aim to balance open merit-based recruitment with targeted support for specialized student groups and designated professional families across the country.
