Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Economic Cooperation

Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have officially reaffirmed their firm commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and significantly expanding economic cooperation between the two nations. The high-level diplomatic interaction and formal reaffirmation took place on Thursday in the city of Jeddah, located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking another important chapter in ongoing bilateral engagements.

The diplomatic meeting was held on the sidelines of the 23rd extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The crucial discussions brought together key diplomatic representatives from both countries in Jeddah to deliberate on mutual interests and cooperative frameworks.

During the official proceedings in Jeddah, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir held a formal and significant bilateral meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The two dignitaries discussed various aspects of the longstanding relationship between Bangladesh and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Underscoring the importance and closeness of the diplomatic ties between the two nations, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud made a notable remark during the meeting. He explicitly stated that Bangladesh is considered one of the priority countries for Saudi Arabia, highlighting the strategic value placed on the partnership.

In a central moment of the diplomatic encounter, State Minister Humayun Kabir officially handed over a letter addressed to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The letter was written by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, further reinforcing the high-level political communication and goodwill between the leadership of both nations.
