11-Party Alliance Plans Dhaka-Chittagong Long March for September 5
Top leaders of the 11-party alliance held a high-level meeting in Dhaka on August 23, presided over by opposition leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman MP. During the gathering, the coalition officially announced a major Dhaka-Chittagong long march starting with a capital rally on September 5.
On August 23, a significant high-level meeting of the 11-party alliance took place at the residence of the opposition leader in Dhaka. The strategic gathering brought together prominent political figures and key coalition leaders to discuss pressing national issues and coordinate future political actions.
The crucial meeting was presided over by opposition leader and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman MP. His leadership guided the discussions among the allied factions as they deliberated on collective strategies and finalized upcoming opposition programmes.
A major outcome of the August 23 session was the official announcement of a long march spanning from Dhaka to Chittagong. According to the coalition's finalized schedule, this high-profile protest programme is officially set to commence on September 5.
As part of the opening phase of the long march, the alliance will host a large public rally in the capital on the same day. Leaders and supporters from various constituent parties of the 11-party alliance are expected to participate in the capital city demonstration before proceeding toward Chittagong.
The coalition comprises several key political organizations, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the National Citizen Party, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis, the Bangladesh Labour Party, Jagpa, AB Party, Bangladesh Development Party, NCP, Nezam-e-Islam Party, and the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement. The alliance leaders united at the Dhaka residence to orchestrate this upcoming mass mobilization.
