VCs Begin Two-Day Dialogue on Higher Education Quality in Savar

A two-day dialogue bringing together university vice-chancellors has officially commenced at the BRAC CDM located in Savar. This important gathering is being held under the implementation of the Higher Education Transformation (HEAT) project, which is managed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. The event aims to address critical challenges and chart a forward-looking path for the country's academic institutions by tackling key issues related to the overall enhancement of higher education standards.

The opening day of the two-day dialogue featured a dedicated discussion session centered on the improvement of educational quality alongside the critical need for employment-oriented education. As universities across Bangladesh continue to face evolving demands from the modern workforce, this dialogue serves as a vital platform for academic leaders and policymakers to deliberate on strategic reforms and practical implementations under the UGC's ongoing initiatives.

Dr. Mahdee Amin, the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Education and Primary and Mass Education, graced the opening session of the dialogue as the chief guest. His presence underscored the high-level governmental backing and priority assigned to reforming the higher education sector and aligning institutional outputs with national development goals and employment requirements.

In addition to the chief guest, several prominent figures from the government and academic sectors participated in the inaugural session's deliberations. Among the distinguished attendees were Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Education Secretary Abdul Khaleq, and Professor Dr. S. M. A. Faiz, the former Chairman of the University Grants Commission.

The collaborative discussions led by these high-ranking officials, education administrators, and university vice-chancellors are expected to yield valuable insights during the two-day event.
