Two Motorcyclists Killed in Faridpur Highway Crash
Two young motorcyclists died and another was severely injured after an unknown vehicle struck their motorcycle from behind on the Faridpur-Barishal highway. The tragic road accident took place on Saturday night in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur.
A tragic road traffic collision occurred on Saturday night, August 29, 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM along the busy Faridpur-Barishal highway. The fatal incident took place specifically within the Naupara area located in Bhanga upazila, which falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Faridpur, Bangladesh. According to local reports from the scene, an unidentified vehicle violently struck a motorcycle from behind while the vehicle was traveling along the highway.
At the time of the sudden and devastating crash, the motorcycle was carrying a total of three young men. The violent impact of the collision threw the occupants from the two-wheeler, resulting in catastrophic consequences for the group. One of the riders, identified locally as Chayan Molla, suffered fatal injuries and tragically died immediately at the scene of the accident before any emergency medical assistance could be administered.
The remaining two injured youths were swiftly rescued from the highway and rushed for urgent medical intervention. They were initially admitted to local medical facilities, specifically the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital, in a desperate bid by medical professionals to save their lives. However, despite the best efforts of the attending physicians, a second rider identified as Sajib Sheikh succumbed to his critical injuries while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, the third injured rider involved in the nighttime crash, Nayan Molla, managed to survive the initial impact but sustained severe, life-threatening injuries. Due to the critical nature of his condition, medical personnel at the regional facility decided that he required specialized medical care. Consequently, Nayan Molla was subsequently transferred from Faridpur to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Local authorities, including officers from the highway police, have launched inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are working to trace the identity and whereabouts of the unknown vehicle responsible for hitting the motorcycle from behind and fleeing the scene of the accident on the Faridpur-Barishal highway.
