Two Counter-Cases Filed Over MP Amir Hamza Car Attack and Office Vandalism

Law enforcement authorities in Kushtia have officially registered two separate counter-cases following a violent series of incidents involving the vandalism of a prominent member of parliament's vehicle and an attack on a local political office. The developments stem from confrontations that have drawn significant attention within the region, prompting formal police intervention to address the alleged crimes committed against the individuals and properties involved.
The first of the two legal actions focuses on the physical assault and the targeted vandalism directed at Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency lawmaker Amir Hamza and his official transport. According to the official police records, this particular case incorporates specific legal accusations against 23 named individuals, alongside an additional group of 40 to 50 unidentified suspects who are believed to have participated in the disruptive events.
A parallel counter-case has been filed concerning the separate acts of violence directed at members and activists belonging to the Gono Odhikar Parishad political organization, including the reported attack on their office space. In this second filing, the formal complaint lists 13 named individuals as accused perpetrators, supplemented by another 30 to 35 unnamed suspects currently under investigation by local law enforcement agencies.
Confirmation of the two opposing legal filings was officially provided by Zakir Hossain, the officer-in-charge (OC) of the Kushtia Model Police Station. Providing a precise timeline of the procedural developments, Zakir Hossain stated that the initial statement and formal registration for the case lodged by Momin বিশ্বাস, the personal assistant to Member of Parliament Amir Hamza, was officially recorded yesterday on Monday at 8:25 PM.
Elaborating further on the sequence of police actions, the officer-in-charge noted that the second case—stemming from the complaint filed by Rumon Hossain, the organizing secretary of the Kushtia Sadar upazila branch of the Gono Odhikar Parishad—was officially entered into the station records later that same night at 12:10 AM. Despite the formal documentation of both competing complaints by the Kushtia Model Police Station, authorities confirmed that no suspects associated with either of the two cases have been apprehended thus far.
