A speeding truck collided with a private car and dragged it for nearly 200 meters in Chattogram's Mirsarai upazila on Monday morning. The car driver sustained minor injuries while the truck driver fled the scene, according to highway police.

A frightening road incident unfolded on Monday morning along the busy Dhaka-Chattogram highway, leaving commuters and authorities in shock. The event occurred at approximately 7:30 AM in the Boro Darogarhat area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Wahedpur Union in Mirsarai Upazila of Chattogram district. According to verified reports, a fast-moving truck collided with a private car, triggering a sequence of events that could have easily resulted in a far greater tragedy.
Following the initial impact, the private car became firmly wedged underneath the larger commercial vehicle. Instead of stopping immediately after the collision, the truck continued moving forward. Witnesses and local accounts confirmed that the heavy truck proceeded to drag the trapped private car along the asphalt for roughly 200 meters, creating a hazardous situation on the major national highway before it finally came to a halt.
Despite the terrifying nature of the ordeal and the visual impact of the collision, the human toll was fortunately limited. The owner and driver of the private car, identified as Tanvir Hossain, sustained only minor injuries during the incident. While the front and structural sections of his private car were visibly mangled and crushed from being dragged beneath the truck, Mr. Hossain managed to escape more severe physical harm.
Following the sudden collision and dragging, immediate action was taken by the victim's family members. Recognizing the need for medical attention, they promptly took the injured driver, Tanvir Hossain, away from the scene and headed toward Chattogram city to ensure he received proper medical treatment for his injuries.
Meanwhile, law enforcement authorities responded swiftly to the emergency. Upon receiving reports that a private car had become trapped beneath a truck in the Boro Darogarhat area of Wahedpur Union, a team from the highway police was dispatched to the location. The responding officers successfully seized both the damaged private car and the involved truck, towing them back to the police station for safekeeping.
Investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash is currently ongoing. Authorities noted that the driver of the truck managed to flee the scene before police arrived and took custody of the vehicles. Officials from the Kumira Highway Police Station are actively looking into the matter as the investigation continues to uncover the full details of the highway incident.
