In an official religious ceremony held in Turkey, a tourist identified as Shevon officially converted to Islam. The momentous event took place at the Artuklu District Mufti's Office, which serves as a local religious administrative center within the Mardin region.
Following his decision to embrace the faith, the tourist chose a new Islamic name to mark the occasion. Moving forward, Shevon will be known by the name Abdullah, reflecting his new spiritual journey and commitment to his newly adopted religion.
The conversion ceremony was conducted under the direct supervision of Suleiman Baran, who holds the position of the Artuklu District Mufti. Local religious officials oversaw the proceedings at the municipal office to ensure the traditional steps for conversion were properly followed.
As part of the welcoming ceremony at the Artuklu District Mufti's Office, the newly named Abdullah was presented with a special gift. District Mufti Suleiman Baran handed him a copy of the Quran to assist him with his future studies and spiritual growth in Islam.
