SUST Appoints New Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer in Sylhet

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, located in Sylhet, Bangladesh, has undergone significant administrative changes with the appointment of a new pro-vice-chancellor and a new treasurer. The official decisions regarding these key academic leadership roles were finalized through official channels in the country.

According to the verified information, Professor Dr. G M Rabiul Islam has been officially appointed to the vital position of pro-vice-chancellor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. His appointment marks a new chapter in the academic governance of the institution, bringing his expertise to the forefront of the university's executive administration.

In addition to the pro-vice-chancellor appointment, Professor Shah Md. Atikul Haque has been named as the new treasurer of the university. He will take charge of the financial administration and fiscal planning for Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, stepping into a role previously held by another faculty member.

The Ministry of Education in Bangladesh formally enacted these institutional changes on August 17. The Secondary and Higher Education Division, specifically operating through its Science and Technology University branch, issued four separate official notifications to implement the new leadership structure and finalize the administrative transitions.

As part of these newly issued directives from the Ministry of Education, the previous pro-vice-chancellor, Dr. Md. Sajedul Karim, along with the previous treasurer, Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, have been officially relieved of their respective duties. The issuance of the four separate notifications on August 17 ensures a complete and structured transition of administrative responsibilities at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
