Six Bangladeshi Nationals Return Home via Tamabil After Jail in India

Six Bangladeshi nationals who previously served prison terms in India on charges of illegal entry have finally returned to their homeland through the Tamabil land port. The repatriation process was officially executed on Wednesday afternoon at the Tamabil Immigration Checkpost, located in the Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet district in Bangladesh.

The return of these citizens was coordinated under the direct presence and supervision of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Border Security Force (BSF) of India. This cross-border handover marks the conclusion of their legal troubles and imprisonment in neighboring India, allowing them to step back onto Bangladeshi soil through the vital Sylhet frontier corridor.

The individuals who have successfully returned from India are identified as Mo. Sakib, Alim Uddin, Emdadul Haque, Mo. Tafijul Islam, Mo. Mamlat Hossain, and Mo. Reham. Their ages span across various brackets, specifically recorded as twenty-three, twenty-nine, forty-three, forty-seven, thirty-four, and nineteen years old, reflecting a diverse group of young and middle-aged citizens.

Before their return via the Tamabil land port, these six nationals had endured detention and penal consequences in Indian correctional facilities. Specifically, their time behind bars was served across the Shillong District Jail and the Tura Jail situated in the West Garo Hills district, stemming from legal violations related to unauthorized entry into Indian territory.

Upon their arrival at the Tamabil Immigration Checkpost on Wednesday afternoon, the group underwent necessary administrative procedures handled by the Tamabil Immigration Police. These comprehensive legal processes ensured proper documentation and verification before the authorities finalized their release.

Following the completion of all required legal formalities and administrative procedures at the border checkpoint, all six returned citizens were handed over safely into the direct custody and care of their respective family members and relatives.
