Six Bangladeshi Nationals Return Home Through Tamabil Checkpost
Six Bangladeshi citizens who entered India illegally and served time in Indian prisons have returned to Bangladesh. They were repatriated on Wednesday, August 26, through the Tamabil Immigration Checkpost.
On Wednesday, August 26, a group of six Bangladeshi nationals returned to their home country after spending time incarcerated in Indian prisons. The repatriation process took place at approximately 5:00 PM local time through the Tamabil Immigration Checkpost, which is situated in the Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet district.
According to the verified reports, these six individuals had previously crossed over into neighboring India without authorization. Following their unauthorized entry into Indian territory, they were detained by authorities and subsequently served mandatory periods of imprisonment within the Indian penal system before their eventual release and repatriation.
The formal handover and reception process at the border was conducted under the direct oversight and coordination of multiple security and law enforcement agencies. Officials from the Border Guard Bangladesh, commonly referred to as the BGB, were actively present at the location to oversee the safe return of the citizens.
In addition to the Border Guard Bangladesh personnel, representatives from the Border Security Force of India, known as the BSF, also participated in the coordinated border proceedings. The presence of both border security forces ensured a structured and official transfer of custody at the international border crossing.
Furthermore, members of the police forces representing both countries were in attendance during the operation to maintain order and document the proceedings. The collaborative presence of the BGB, BSF, and bilateral police forces culminated in the successful reception of the six returning Bangladeshi citizens at the Tamabil Immigration Checkpost.
