Samina Naz Presents Credentials as Bangladesh's High Commissioner to New Zealand

Samina Naz has officially presented her credentials as Bangladesh's first resident High Commissioner to New Zealand, marking a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the two nations. The formal presentation ceremony took place on September 9, 2026, at Government House located in the capital city of Wellington.

During the official proceedings at Government House, High Commissioner Samina Naz presented her diplomatic credentials to the Governor-General of New Zealand, Dame Cindy Kiro. This landmark event establishes a permanent diplomatic presence for Bangladesh in the country through the Bangladesh High Commission, elevating the bilateral engagement to new heights.

Reflecting on the historical ties between the two countries, official records note that the diplomatic relationship between Bangladesh and New Zealand first commenced in 1972. Over the decades, both nations have maintained cordial relations, which are now set to be further solidified with the establishment of resident diplomatic representation.

Outlining her vision for future collaboration during the engagement, High Commissioner Samina Naz emphasized the immense potential for bilateral growth.
