Rangpur Police Question Father and Brother of Siddhartha Das Over Four Murders
Rangpur Metropolitan Police have brought in the father and brother of Siddhartha Das for questioning regarding the killing of four people. The interrogation follows the August 22 recovery of four bodies from a local residence and subsequent arrests.
Police in Rangpur have taken two family members of Siddhartha Das into custody for questioning in connection with the gruesome murder of four individuals in the area. The development was officially confirmed on the afternoon of August 29 by Sanatan Chakraborty, the Deputy Commissioner of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police.
According to the statements provided by law enforcement officials, the father and brother of Siddhartha Das were brought in during the afternoon hours of Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Sanatan Chakraborty stated that authorities had been summoning them for quite some time prior to this action, noting, "They have been called for a long time. Later on Saturday afternoon, Siddhartha Das's father Vinoy Das and brother Partha Das were brought in for questioning."
Regarding the ongoing investigation, Deputy Commissioner Chakraborty further elaborated on the current status of the inquiry by stating, "They are being interrogated. Details can be given about this later." The authorities are continuing their probe to uncover the circumstances surrounding the multihomicide.
This police action follows the grim discovery made earlier on the night of August 22, when law enforcement officers recovered the lifeless bodies of four members of the same family from a residence in the area. The victims were identified as Ganapati, his wife Pritilata, their daughter Agami, and their son Priyam Chakraborty.
Following the discovery of the four bodies, legal proceedings were promptly initiated at the Kotwali Police Station. Gopinath Chakraborty, the elder brother of the deceased Ganapati, filed a murder case as the plaintiff, naming unidentified individuals as the accused.
In the wake of the initial crime scene investigation, police action led to the apprehension of suspects in the early hours of that same day. Law enforcement officials arrested two young men, identified as Mugdha Das and Siddhartha Das, from the same locality where the killings occurred.
