According to the project outlines, the total cost for the construction of the bridge was estimated at 1,042 crore taka. The primary objective of this major infrastructure undertaking was to establish a direct and uninterrupted road communication network. Once completed, the bridge would connect Patuakhali through Pirojpur directly to the major urban and port hubs of Khulna and Mongla, transforming regional commerce and commuter travel.
