In a major development for the international labor market, Oman has officially expressed its strong interest to recruit a total of ten thousand workers from Bangladesh. This substantial workforce initiative will focus exclusively on the vital agricultural and fisheries sectors of the respective nations, creating new employment avenues for Bangladeshi nationals abroad.
The landmark announcement and subsequent developments were solidified through a formal agreement signed between the two countries. This newly established pact marks an important milestone in bilateral cooperation, particularly concerning labor migration and economic partnership between Dhaka and Muscat.
Prior to the finalization of the agreement, significant diplomatic engagements took place in the capital city of Dhaka. These crucial discussions were held directly at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, setting the administrative groundwork for the recruitment process.
During the high-level meeting at the ministry, the discussions were spearheaded by prominent figures from both sides. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid engaged in formal talks with Al Sayyid Mohammad Salim Ali Al Said, a distinguished member of the Omani royal family.
