A court in Rajbari has ordered the incarceration of a female nurse, Moza. Tania Khatun, after rejecting her bail plea in a legal dispute brought under the Dowry Prohibition Act. The decision was handed down amidst ongoing legal proceedings concerning allegations made by her husband, escalating a marital dispute that traces back to their wedding in early 2024.

On Tuesday afternoon, Judicial Magistrate Arif Hossain of the Baliakandi Cognizance Court in Rajbari presided over the hearing where the bail application for Moza. Tania Khatun was formally denied. Following the ruling by Magistrate Arif Hossain, the defendant was ordered to be sent to jail in connection with the case filed under Section 3 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

According to the verified background of the case, Moza. Tania Khatun is professionally employed as a nurse and works at the Reliance General and Renal Hospital. Her professional life became entangled in legal turmoil when her husband, Sakhawat Hossain Sohan, initiated court proceedings against her earlier this year at the local judicial level.

The matrimonial relationship between the parties commenced on February 20, 2024, when Moza. Tania Aktar married Sakhawat Hossain Sohan with a stipulated denmohor of five lakh taka. However, the domestic situation deteriorated subsequently, leading to formal legal action being instituted by the husband at the court.

Court records indicate that Sakhawat Hossain Sohan lodged the dowry case on January 22 of the current year at the Baliakandi Cognizance Court in Rajbari. The ongoing litigation continues through the local judicial framework, involving judicial authorities and legal representation linked to the Baliakandi police station jurisdiction.
