The announcement was officially made on Wednesday afternoon during a public rally organized to mark the founding anniversary of Swechchhasebak Dal, the prominent volunteer wing of the BNP. The event served as a major gathering for local opposition leaders and party activists.
Advocate Selim Ullah Selim, who serves as the General Secretary of the Chandpur District BNP, publicly pronounced the restriction against the NCP coordinator during his address to the assembled party members and supporters at the rally.
This recent local opposition builds upon previous tensions in the region involving the National Citizen Party leadership. Earlier, in September 2025, BNP and its affiliated organization activists had similarly declared Nasiruddin Patwary unwelcome in the Shahrashti upazila of Chandpur district.
