According to the official announcement released regarding the disciplinary proceedings, the stringent penalties include the cancellation of the offenders' examinations for the specific 2024 academic session. The university authorities have categorized the infractions under charges of cheating and general rule violations during the crucial third-year undergraduate examinations.
Data compiled from the disciplinary records highlight that institutions in Cumilla have recorded the highest concentration of infractions. Specifically, Cumilla Victoria College and Cumilla Government Women's College share the top position on the list of erring institutions, with each college recording exactly 10 students facing punitive measures for examination malpractice.
Meanwhile, academic institutions in other regions were also implicated in the widespread disciplinary review. Records from Netrokona Government College indicate that a total of 9 candidates from the institution have been placed on the official punishment list for their involvement in examination irregularities.
The comprehensive disciplinary decisions were finalized during a high-level administrative meeting held to address examination offenses. The session was presided over by Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah, who serves in a dual capacity as the Vice-Chancellor of the National University and the President of the university's examination disciplinary committee.
