Mobile Court Fines Fertilizer Trader 20,000 Baka in Jashore
A mobile court in Jashore's Chougachha has fined a 45-year-old trader 20,000 taka for illegally hoarding and selling fertilizer without valid documents. Authorities also seized 13,550 kilograms of fertilizer during the operation in the municipal area.

A mobile court has conducted a drive in the Parpara area of the municipal town in Chougachha upazila of Jashore, targeting illegal agricultural input storage and sales operations. The official operation was executed on August 26, 2026, amid growing administrative scrutiny over the distribution and pricing of essential farming supplies within the local region.
During the course of the drive, the presiding authorities confronted a local shopkeeper identified as Khairul Islam, whose age is noted as 45 years. Upon inspection by the mobile court, the trader failed to present any legal documents or valid licenses authorizing him to sell or store fertilizers commercially within the municipal area.
Addressing the legal violations uncovered during the inspection, the operation's official G. M. A. Munib stated that the trader could not produce any valid paperwork as a fertilizer seller. Consequently, the court ordered the immediate seizure of the illicit stock and directed that the materials be sold to local farmers at government-regulated fair prices.
As a result of the judicial proceedings, authorities confiscated a substantial quantity totaling 13,550 kilograms of fertilizer from the premises. In addition to the physical seizure, Khairul Islam confessed to the crime of hoarding a massive amount of fertilizer without holding a valid license, prompting the court to impose a monetary penalty of 20,000 taka.
Furthermore, the mobile court mandated specific protocols for the financial proceeds generated from the confiscated goods. The directive specifies that the money collected from selling the 13,550 kilograms of seized fertilizer to farmers at government fair prices must be deposited directly into the state revenue treasury.
