Memorial Meeting Honors Former Prime Minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed

A solemn memorial meeting was held yesterday at the Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka to observe the death anniversary of the late former Prime Minister and Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Chairman, Kazi Zafar Ahmed. The event brought together numerous political figures, party leaders, and organizers to pay tribute to the late leader's life, political career, and contributions to the nation.

The commemorative event was officially organized by the Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) to remember their founding chairman and former premier. Leaders and members from the organizing party, alongside representatives from various allied organizations, gathered at the venue in the capital to reflect on his political legacy and the values he championed throughout his career.

The meeting was presided over by Mostafa Jamal Haider, who serves as the current Chairman of the Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) and is a former minister. In his presidential address, Mr. Haider addressed the current political and national landscape, highlighting the various challenges and crises currently confronting the country.

Mr. Haider noted that while Prime Minister Tareque Rahman is actively attempting to resolve these ongoing issues, overcoming the multifaceted crises requires a strong national unity. He stressed that building a comprehensive consensus is essential for navigating the difficult situation and addressing the nation's problems effectively.

Furthermore, the Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) chairman underscored the critical importance of fostering solidarity among specific political factions. He stated that there is no alternative to building a wider unity, particularly among all anti-fascist democratic forces, to ensure and secure the democratic future of the country through collaborative efforts.

The gathering at the Jatiya Press Club was attended by a broad array of individuals representing various political platforms and community groups. Notable attendees mentioned at the event included Kazi Md. Nahid, Ahsan Habib Linkon, Nawab Ali Abbas Khan, Mostafa Zubayer Haider, Selim Master, Shamsuddin Parvez, Mohiuddin Ekram, ASM Shamim, Kazi Mohammad Nazrul, Kazi Jaya, Abdullah Chowdhury Pasha, Nizam Uddin Sarkar, Mamun Asif Bhuiyan, Kazi Fayez Ahmed, and Mehedi Hasan Abhi.
