Joypurhat BGB Trains Border Youth in Poultry Rearing for Self-Reliance
The Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB) has concluded a four-week poultry rearing training program for unemployed youth in the border area. Certificates and necessary supplies were distributed among the participants at a closing ceremony in Panchbibi.
In an initiative aimed at fostering self-employment and economic self-reliance among unemployed youth residing near the border, the Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB) successfully organized a comprehensive four-week special training program focused on poultry rearing. This dedicated training initiative was designed to equip young individuals with practical skills and knowledge necessary to establish sustainable livelihoods through poultry farming within their local communities.
The intensive four-week training course was officially conducted over several weeks, running from July 28 through August 20. The educational and practical sessions of the program took place at the Biam Model School and College, located within the upazila. During this period, participants received specialized instruction tailored to modern poultry management and care techniques.
A select group of ten unemployed young individuals representing the border region actively participated in this specialized program. Despite the modest scale of the cohort, the curriculum provided each attendee with focused, hands-on learning experiences intended to maximize their understanding of effective poultry rearing practices for future economic independence.
Following the conclusion of the training period, a formal closing ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 25, at the Panchbibi BGB special camp. The event marked the official completion of the program, bringing together participants and organizational leaders to recognize the efforts and commitment shown by the young trainees throughout the duration of the course.
During the closing and certificate distribution ceremony, Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, Sector Commander of the BGB Dinajpur Sector, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his capacity, he formally handed over the official certificates of completion alongside necessary materials to the ten participating youth, encouraging them to apply their newly acquired skills toward building a self-sufficient future.
