IPU Delegation Meets Opposition Leader in Dhaka Parliament

An official meeting took place on Monday, August 31, at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka, bringing together representatives from the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the opposition leadership. The high-level engagement was held inside the office of the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, marking a significant diplomatic interaction within the country's primary legislative complex.

The international delegation representing the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was spearheaded by Secretary General Anda Filip. Alongside the IPU Secretary General, other members of the visiting delegation included Roberto Rodriguez Valencia and Herieno A. Angoro, who participated in the formal discussions held at the national parliament building.

On the opposing side of the diplomatic table, Leader of the Opposition Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman hosted the delegation alongside several prominent figures from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and parliamentary circles. Among the attendees present during the talks were Barrister Najibur Rahman Momen, Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman, Ali Ahmad Mabror, and Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan.
