On Monday, August 24, 2026, eight students who fell victim to application form fraud participated in their HSC examinations under special arrangements at the New Government Degree College center in Rajshahi. The affected students are originally from Abdulpur Government College in the Lalpur upazila of Natore.

An investigation revealed that Amit Kumar Sarkar, an office assistant at the college library, had taken 3,000 taka per person from the eight students under the false pretext of completing their official exam application forms, but ultimately failed to submit them.

The plight of the affected students eventually came to the direct attention of the education minister, which subsequently paved the way for special arrangements to be made for their admit cards so they could finally sit for the tests.

Among those supporting the candidates is Imamul Haq, whose daughter's examination center is located approximately 60 kilometers away from their family home. To ensure the process went smoothly, he noted that he and his daughter arrived early and stayed at a relative's house in Rajshahi. Despite the logistical challenges and suffering involved, he expressed happiness that his daughter was ultimately able to take her exam.

Beyond this specific incident, the broader situation involves the Rajshahi Education Board, which is overseeing examinations for a total of 46 candidates from various districts who were unable to participate in several subject tests due to a variety of reasons. Consequently, the board is arranging for these missed subject examinations to be taken under special arrangements.
